Our Story
A Swiss meeting a Catalan during a university exchange program in Germany. Planning a wedding in less than two months, moving to the US, and having a baby right after the pandemic…
We don’t do things the easy way!
2011
How we met
We were college students in our respective countries. In 2011, we both decided to go for an exchange year in Stuttgart, Germany.
During that year, we spent all the time together; class, partying, discovering Germany, and traveling abroad. We didn’t know yet, but it was just the beginning!
2013
Moving in together
In the summer of 2013, after we both graduated with our bachelor, Carla decided to move to Switzerland. There, she would find her first “real” job, and Jerome would move in with her in a tiny studio in Neuchâtel.
During the following years, we would move to a bigger place, welcome many guests, travel to different countries, and discover every Swiss corner.
Things changed in 2017 when Carla’s company announced the closure of Neuchâtel’s office. Would we be willing to move to Boston?
2018
The wedding
After almost seven years together, and to help with all the relocation paperwork, we decided to get married.
With only six weeks to plan a wedding; there wasn’t enough time for a big celebration! We invited some family and our closest friends and had a small wedding by the Neuchâtel lake.
But we missed some important people, so we made a promise: we’ll celebrate again!
2018
Moving overseas
Less than two months after the wedding, we sell and pack everything and move across the Atlantic. Again, we start our life in the new country in a small apartment and move later on to a bigger one.
In Boston, we discover the city and New England, learn about American sports, eat lots of lobster, and make new friends. During their first year there, we welcome friends and family to visit. But in 2020, the pandemic puts the world on hold and for a long time, we are stuck at home.
2021
Amelia
In 2021 we prepared for the most significant change and adventure in our lives. On July 17, 2021, Amelia joins our family. She is smart, fun, and loving and brings so much joy to our days.
2023
The redo
We said our love needed a bigger celebration, and here we are! We are excited to bring together all the pieces of our story and celebrate what we signed five years ago with all of you.
